Part of the motivation of spending Christmas in the White Desert is to say we had a 'white christmas'. So happy Christmas! Watching the sun rise from a cave in the desert of Egypt was a pretty amazing way to spend Christmas morning. And Happytoday our guides added cucumber to the breakfast feta and tomatoes….yum! We spent part of the day taking goofy Christmas pics in the desert with the Santa hats we brought with us. And we traveled a very long way to find the next oasis in which to have our lunch under. After that we had only one destination in mind…………. on to the sand dunes! After driving up and down the dunes we stopped to set up camp for the night. Another truly amazing place to sleep….the only downfall being the desert mouse which everyone else thought was cute. I thought it looked like a mouse and was not lovin’ the idea of sleeping under the stars with the desert mice looking for food. Regardless of that, I slept very soundly.
