Been at sea for a number of days now with not much too report, except we are looking forward to entering the Suez Canal in the early hours of this morning, when we will pick up our anchor and proceed with the pilot on board through the Canal. The Suez Canal is an artificial sea-level waterway in Egypt, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. Opened in 1869 after 10 years of construction, it allows ships to travel between Europe and Eastern Asia without navigating around Africa. Assim, fui eu novamente para este país que me encantou desde o primeiro dia. Estranho, ao deixar o Egito eu tive a sensação que eu voltaria para lá. Ok, não achei que seria tão cedo assim. rs. Consegui o visto para entrar novamente no país em Eilat-Israel. O visto saiu no mesmo dia. Ufa. Ao cruzar a fronteira para o Egito o 'perrengue' começa. Israel me deixou 'mal acostumada', pois lá tudo funciona. Ok, você paga caro por isso. O moço da alfândega vasculhou TU-DO na minha mochila. After our relaxing days at the Red Sea we had to say good bye to our Egyptian tour guide and make our way via ferry to Jordan. We were dropped off at the port and with the help of a security guard got through customs without any incidents. (We entered in one building, put our bags through an xray machine that no one paid any attention to and then had to go to another building to wait.) We were ushered into one corner of a large hall where all of the ferry passengers were waiting. The passengers were mostly local, and the other tourists were from the middle east. Greetings all and happy Easter from Dahab. Just over a week ago I arrived in the wee hours of the morning to our lovely resort in Cairo. It was great to reunite with Amy and we stayed up chatting until we heard the morning call to prayer at 4am/ I very much enjoyed a bit of shut eye in my very comfortable bed after 54 days on a blow up mat in a tent. The next morning we enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast by the pool in the sunshine and heat. Amy was very excited to finally catch some rays after a dragging winter in London. We arrived in Dahab after a 40 minute flight from Hurghada which saved us a 12 hour bus ride something we were all very grateful for. Dahab is a small costal town situated on the southeast coast of the Sinai Peninsula. Many people travel here to get their diving competencies as it is very cheap and because Dahab offers some of the best diving spots in the world. We arrived at our hotel which is beachfront late in the evening where we could see the lights of Saudi Arabia over the ocean. Before we went to sleep we made plans to snorkel the following day at the famous blue hole. The Blue Hole is a subarine sinkhole around 130 m deep.
