On Saturday, Amy, Sasha, Josh and I went to the pottery festival in a village outside of Faiyum....a few hours drive from Cairo. The drive wasn't bad because I got to see my first Egyptian desert. And let me just say, I'm not that into pottery but wow....it was amazing. And now I know what will fill my carry on back on my flights back home. I bought three large nice bowls plus some other smaller pieces. Faiyum is known for it's pottery and now I understand why. Also, I have to mention here the pigeon houses that are all over Egypt. I saw the largest/oldest one since I've been here which is 200 years old. Pic attached.
