Egypt in 13 days......

Starting off in Cairo and visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx - don't think I need to describe how amazing it was to see them! And how fantastic it was taking a camel ride around the Pyramids in the Sahara?

An overnight train took us down to Aswan, not the height of luxury but quite an adventure. The hotel in Aswan was really quite cool, from the window of our hotel room we looked out over the hotel swimming pool, the Nile and the Sahara Dessert!

We visited the Philae Temple and the High Dam but the trip to Abu Simbel didn't happen - for no apparent reason all the flights there were cancelled!

The next two nights were spend aboard a felucca, two lovely relaxing days cruising up the Nile stopping off at one or two sights before reaching Kom Ombo. We joined a Police Convoy to visit Edfu Temple and then on to Luxor.

Luxor was full of interesting sights including Karnak temple, the West Bank visit included the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens.

From Luxor we travelled overnight to Dahab for four relaxing days by the pool, some wicked snorkelling at the Blue Hole in the Red Sea, sunrise in the canyon (not part of the excursion...!), some fantastic seafood, great nights out and a bit of sunbathing!

Back in Cairo we went to the massive Egyptian Museum and the souks in the City.

We went with On The Go Tours, the guides were great, really knowledgeable and quite good fun, even throughout Ramadan when it must have been pretty tough for them. Our tour group were all great - everyone got on really well and were so much fun.

Fantastic holiday in Egypt.
