GSF 135 from the Asterie

Still trying to learn to type in HTML thing, so apologise for any mistakes


I'm just going to add in here some photos of the rig, the GSF 135 on the Moho Bilondo field off the Congo coast. Before anyone gets to up in arms about it, just consider for me it's a job and someone would do it anyway and the computer you're using to read this with is probably using fuel from a fossil fuel powered station....
For me the best is seeing the aquatic life and actually now having an idea of how polluting (or not as the case is) this kind of work can be, from the stories you often hear fo how uncaring the big corporations are, I was amazed how strict they are about waste products and how it is all dealt with, even in somewhere like the Congo, even as a skeptic I was impressed....

The big yellow bit on the bottom seperates for the round bit on the top...we are working the thing at 650 meters here, quite a long way down.... (the orange thing is one of the escape lifeboats)

There are so many fish in the first 15 meters of water, occasionally one get caught in the vehicle as we recover it from the sea, this Tuna was an unlucky one... :(
