You might be wondering why the title for this blog is only in Spanish. Well, before arriving in Miami, Maria thought she would be enjoying a break from her translating duties. However, Miami has a very high percentage of Spanish speaking immigrants, many of these from the very nearby islands of Cuba and Puerto Rico. In fact, almost everyone you meet in a public facing job (shop salespeople, hotel clerks, bus drivers, waiters, etc) have Spanish as their 1st language. Although they all speak English as well, it is clear that if you can speak Spanish you'll be able to get your wishes over to them more clearly. So she was on duty yet again.
