We left Nuts Huts with a boat at 8:30 after having eaten breakfast. We had to wait 20 minutes for two old ladies who were late for the boat and could not get down the stairs. They did not really fit into the jungle surrounding with their nailpolish, make-up and trolley suitcases but at least they were trying to get out there. Rita went on the trip too and seemed a bit tired of the two ladies - understandably.
We went to Tagbilaran by jeepney and then we took a tricycle to Alona. We stayed at Bohol Divers Lodge where we payed 600 pesos per night. It was very luxurious for our standard, we had a pool, fan, bathroom with sink and mirror and a shower.
There were some termites or whatever crawling on the wall but we found out that our mosquito spray that did not work with mosquitoes, actually worked on the termites so we got rid of them fast. We had lunch at Trudis place, which was very good and cheap. We met the Danish guy Theis again and talked a bit with him. We made arrangements for a snorkelling trip the day after.
We
had dinner at Trudis again, really nice place! We had a drink each after dinner. About this time my father was about to return to Denmark and Claus continued, assumingly also on Bohol somewhere.
The day after we had to get up at 5:30, since we had to be at the boat by 6. The two others who were supposed to come on the trip were sick, so he made us pay 100 pesos extra, we did it even though it seemed like a scam but it really is almost no money for us and a lot for them.
We went out to see some dolphins before snorkelling, they were really beautiful but it was a shame that so many boats were chasing them around, cause they were trying to escape more than playing around - still very nice to see them free in the big open ocean.
After the dolphin watching we went snorkelling at Baticlan Island. We took a small hike aroung the island and into the jungle were the locals lives. There were a lot of animals and some locals were working on what seemed to be a new big resort. We went snorkelling
just off the beach and even saw a seaturtle, but only for a few moments and then it went off into the deeper sea. There were a lot of fish and the small ones kept swimming up to our heads - so much underwater life.
We went back and had breakfast at Trudis. Then we went to the beach and later when it started raining we went for a quick swim in the pool. After this we went to an internet café and talked with family and friends from home.
For dinner we tried a place called Powder Keg which had a more western atmosphere. We ate pizza and far too much . It was double of the price at Ging Gings at Malapasqua but still so cheap.
We met Theis later that night at a bar and we also met some local Phillipinos who was on holiday in Alona, they worked on a casino in Cebu City.
